It was cool to discover this broadcast video from a concert I played with Maynard Ferguson in Lithuania back in 2003. I toured with Maynard’s “Big Bop Nouveau” band for about 10 months in 2002-2003, and this gig was etched in my memory because the audience had such an incredible warmth and generosity, I think the most supportive audience I’ve ever experienced. My drum solo is from around 7:00-13:40 and I could feel the crowd’s amazing energy from the stage. Cool to see it again, and it reminds me that music truly is the universal language.
